Message from Maggie: We had a wedding for one of Mr. Magpie’s childhood friends in midtown Manhattan over the weekend. Please find some recommendations from our trip below.
Friday
- Drinks at Ditch Plains (We met our best friends and New Yorkers Blair + Ethan for drinks before dinner at this casual, cool oyster bar. Moscow mules for everyone!)
- Dinner at Miss Lily’s (Blair helped me coordinate a huge group reservation for our pals at this Caribbean oasis. Enjoy the Jamaican jerk chicken and salmon and drinks like Red Stripe and the very potent soju.)
Saturday
- Brunch at Norma’s (Tucked away inside the beautiful Le Parker Meridien hotel, Norma’s offers up monster size portions on a breakfast menu and every meal starts with a smoothie shot. Open for brunch until 3. Make a reservation!)
- Afternoon in Central Park (Is there anything more New York?)
- Wedding at Lotte New York Palace Hotel (Timeless elegance in a 19th-century landmark mansion. We enjoyed great food, a DJ that had a horn section, and an after party in a secret room.)
Sunday
- Ess-a-Bagels (We hit the road for our vacation to Rhode Island so got something on the fly. This place boasts a some of the city’s best bagels and in turn has a HUGE line of followers out the front door.)
