Make: Watermelon Picnic Basket

Message from Maggie: After this tasseled picnic basket had such a great reception I was on the hunt for another picnic basket project. I saw this cute one on StudioDIY and decided to give it a whirl.
Materials:
- Picnic basket (Note: Try your local thrift store!)
- Paint (Red, Green, White, + Black)
- Varying size paint brushes
- 2 white embroidery threads
- Superglue
Instructions:
- Paint the bottom of the basket red.
- Paint the lid of the basket green.
- Paint the remaining rim and handles white and let it dry.
- Paint your black tear trop shape seeds and let it dry.
- Make two tassels and glue or tie them onto front of basket. (Note: Need a tassle tutorial? Here you go!)
Cost:
- Basket: $2
- Paint: 50 cents for each paint; total $2
- Paintbrushes: I had these but you can get them for 50 cents to $2 a piece
- Embroidery thread: 50 cents each; total $2
Total: $8
