Message from Maggie:
During my tour of Northern Virginia thrift stores (see here) with my best friend Mere on Saturday, we came across a pineapple dish. Pineapples are everything right now and dishes like this are selling for around $30! I snagged this one for $3- a real steal- and had immediate plans to upcycle it.
What is upcycling?
Reuse an object in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.
Materials:
- Thrifted dish
- Food safe gold paint
Instructions:
- Clean thrifted dish thoroughly.
- Allow to dry completely.
- Using food safe gold paint, paint dish.
- Allow to dry completely.
Cost:
- $3 pineapple dish
- $6 for a can of spray paint (I had this on hand)
Total: $3-9 dollars
