Message from Maggie: These copper pipes are a cool feature in our stairwell. However, they were a little worse for wear when we moved in. I finally decided to give them a shine- and can’t believe the results.
Instructions:
- Cut a lemon in a half.
- Pour coarse salt on it.
- Scrub placing salted lemon side on copper.
- Wipe with rag or back of sponge.
Photographs:

Before (during our home inspection) + After (today after the shine)

Cost:
- Lemons ($4 for a dozen)
- Coarse salt ($4)
Total about $8
