Message from Maggie: My husbands family including my 2 year old nephew are coming to visit for Easter. Since I will be traveling the next two weeks I planned ahead and got the eggs for the hunt stuffed and the baskets made in advance. Check out my tips below.
Instructions:
Easter Baskets
- Find a beautiful basket or creative item to serve as your easter basket. Note: I made baskets for everyone using left over berry baskets we bought to use for our wedding welcome bags.
- Fill basket with traditional easter candy and even non-traditional non-food items. Note: For the adult baskets I used items like chapstick, mint, gum, easter napkins, stamps, and flower seeds. For my nephews basket, I used items like bubbles, socks, a Peep stuffed animal, sidewalk chalk, and a bouncy ball. Think creatively! The possibilities are endless.
- Create name tags on baskets using chalk board tags. Note: I found these at Target- pay a visit to the dollar section! I’ve also seen them at craft stores, too. I like to use chalk pens over regular chalk because it is much easier to write with.
Egg Hunt
- Buy plastic eggs.
- Fill with traditional easter candy and even non-traditional non-food items. Note: I used jelly beans, chocolate eggs, stickers, bunny erasers, change, and dollar bills.
Cost
Depending on what you choose you can make these projects for just a few bucks
