Maggie’s Menu: Wicked Witch Pudding Cups
Message from Maggie:
My neighbors invited me to a Hallow’s eve dinner party last night and I whipped up this kid-friendly dessert to bring along. Eat, drink, and be scary, my friends!
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2-1/4 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies
Other materials:
- 4 cups (Note: I found these in the dollar section at Target)
- 4 paper straws
- 1 sheet of black construction paper
- Tape
Instructions:
- Stir together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in medium saucepan; gradually stir in milk.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla.
- Pour into individual dessert dishes. To avoid a skin from forming on top, press plastic wrap directly onto surface; serve warm or refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, place chocolate sandwich cookies cookies in a ziplock and gently crush.
- Cut paper straws in half.
- Cut out 8 witches boots out of construction paper.
- Tape top of boots onto paper straws to create witch legs.
- When ready to serve sprinkle crushed chocolate sandwich cookies evenly over pudding.
- Place witch legs upside down into pudding cookie mixture.
Yields 4 servings
