Maggie’s Menu: Pan Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Message from Maggie: This is an easy and delicious side with beef or fish.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound brussel sprouts
- 4 T. Olive oil
- 1 shallot, chopped
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
- Depending on size, half or quarter the brussel spouts.
- Add olive oil to a large skillet. Maggie’s Must Have: My favorite pan is the D5 All Clad 4 quart.
- Add shallots and brussel sprouts, stirring occasionally until sprouts are golden brown, about 8-1- minutes depending on size.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
You can jazz these up by adding bacon for special occasions. I like to cook the bacon in the pan before step one. Then remove to a paper-towel lined plate before roughly chopping. After step three, add bacon back in and toss before getting back to step four.
